![]() ![]() The serial number indicates that this horn was built in 1960. (I'm in Ohio, woke up to a temperature of single digits this morning.) I've managed to track down a couple of things that might be the issue and figured I would ask tubenet their thoughts.ġ. When the horn is fully warmed up it is still about 15-20 cents flat with the main tuning slide fully pushed in depending on the temperature of my Apartment. However I am having an issue with the tuning. It has this nice, big full sound and for the price I figured it would be a decent horn to clean up and use for Alumni Band gigs. Most horns are shipped without any slide lubricant. So I Picked up a Holton Collegiate sousaphone a couple of months ago for 90 bucks. Shipping is typically $35 flat within the 48 United States through USPS or FedEx (whichever is faster and most cost-efficient) and $85 minimum to Canada and Mexico. More pictures may be available on my Reverb listing for this instrument. ![]() Some may have cosmetic wear, which will be shown in the pictures. I play, buy, collect and sell trombones and attempt to describe the horn in the way in which I would want it described.Īll the horns I sell are in playable condition, unless otherwise stated. ![]() Horn is being sold as-is, with no returns in the condition shown in the pictures, so please review all images and message me with any questions. Includes the original case, which has some wear on it, but still works fine, minus missing a latch, and mouthpiece. Inner slide tubes are essentially spotless, minus a bit of wear near the end. The worst of the denting/scratching is in the form of minor indentations in the bell flare that were probably caused by the mouthpiece rattling against the bell in the case. Finish is good, but there are also a few scratches here and there from normal use, as well as, what I would call, tarnish spots mainly present on the bell section, which is shown in the pictures. This horn has virtually no denting having only minor blemishes in the crook, bell and tuning slide that are largely unnoticeable. This is an original 1941 Holton Collegiate trombone made in Elkhorn Wisconsin. Mouthpiece: Yes, Collegiate Frank Holton & Co. ![]()
